Since 2007 World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has been running an annual campaign - “Earth hour” that serves to draw the attention to the ecological problems in our planet.
More than 2 billions of people in more than 170 countries and 7000 cities all over the world take part in it every year. Earth Hour has been supported around the world by Nelson Mandela, supermodel Miranda Kerr, footballer Lionel Messi, the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Greenpeace International Executive Director Kumi Naidoo, former US Vice President Al Gore, the President of Fiji Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, André Kuipers and the International Space Station, actress Isabel Lucas, TV stars Bill and Giuliana Rancic, Yoko Ono, Stephen Fry, Cate Blanchett, Coldplay, among many others. Among the most popular Moscow buildings taking participation in “Earth hour” are the Kremlin, St.Basil’s Cathedral, State Department Store (GUM), theatres and museums, the railway stations and bridges.
You also have a chance to join the “Earth hour” on March 25, 2017 from 8:30 pm till 9:30 pm (Moscow time) by switching off the light in your room and non-vital electrical appliances. During this hour you can enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and delicious meals in our restaurants, cafes and bars as well as our well-developed infrastructure “City-within-the city”.
